The Reading Planning Commission is in the process of drafting zoning amendments that will implement applicable HOME Act requirements related to parking, ADUs, duplexes, emergency shelters, etc.; enable senior housing; allow the ZA to approve minor subdivisions; clarify that small lots under common ownership do not automatically merge; clarify the language on nonconformities; and address H.687 requirements where applicable. The Planning Commission anticipates completing the project by the end of January 2025.
