The region has both traditional non-profit housing developers that focus on building, using state and federal funding programs for income-limited clientele, as well as forprofit developers that are building standard market housing at higher price points. The region currently lacks other kinds of developers, such as those that take on smaller, incremental projects, that would boost production of needed units, especially in the mid-price range.
