Vermont allows accessory dwelling units (ADUs) to be inside an existing home, attached, or detached but nearby. Vermont also allows tiny homes as a primary home. New Hampshire could follow suit and allow detached ADUs and tiny homes as well. In order for tiny homes to be allowed in all districts, state and local bodies need to update necessary codes, including but not limited to building code, fire and safety codes, and wastewater requirements.
