Affordable homes designed for accessibility and in locations with transportation options and access to amenities can help meet the needs of our region’s aging populations, as well as residents with physical disabilitiesMunicipalities will need to further incentivize housing that meets their needs and be attractive to developers, such as greater density and less parking. One option is a design-based model ordinance where units can be “age-targeted” based on design standards, rather than requiring an age restriction.
